About Me
Passionate about encouraging and motivating students, Carol Pook serves as a school counselor at Tenor Journal Square High School, a position she has held since 2009.
She previously worked for over twenty-one years as a social worker at Nicolet High School and for one year as a social worker at Milwaukee Public Schools.
Carol graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy from Montclair State College, and she holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a School Social Work Certification from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Carol has three adult children, and she enjoys baking bread and sweet treats.
“I especially enjoy getting to know our students and their parents or guardians and learning about their experiences and hopes for the future. Working at Tenor High School gives me the opportunity to encourage our students and as they build their academic foundation, make plans and take ‘real world’ steps toward the future they imagine. Our partnership with MATC motivates students to work toward a goal. Whether students aspire to attend a 4-year college and possibly graduate school, earn a diploma or Associate Degree that opens the door to a career, secure an apprenticeship for a trade, or start a job that has a future - all of our students can work toward their own goals at Tenor High School and during their dual enrollment year at MATC. When our students graduate, we can look back at all they have accomplished and look forward with confidence that they have the skills to be successful.”
