What is the MATC Connection?

During their senior year, students from Tenor High School attend Milwaukee Area Technical College to earn college credits for free! Students can earn an MATC program certificate, credits for an associate degree, or credits to be transferred to a 4 year degree program. 

Class of 2015 at MATC

  • 49 Tenor seniors attended MATC during the 2014-2015 school year 
  • 3 completed the Nursing Assistant Technical Diploma Program
  • 2 completed the Electrical Construction Certificate Program
  • 2 completed the Nail Technician Certificate Program
  • 1 completed the Barber Technical Diploma
  • 1 completed both the Nursing Assistant Technical Diploma and Nail Technician Certificate Programs
  • Tenor seniors earned an average 2.6 GPA at MATC during the 2014-2015 school year
  • The average senior earned 19 college credits at MATC during the 2014-2015 school year
  • 18 seniors earned between 20 and 35 college credits during the 2014-2015 school year
  • Tenor seniors earned a total of 897 credits at MATC
  • 29 will remain at MATC after graduation to continue studies in fields including IT computer support, cosmetology, pre-nursing, computer electronics, criminal justice, machine tooling, dental hygiene, EMT, radiography, and police aid

Class of 2015's Plans to Continue Their Success

Of the 50 seniors graduating Tenor High School, 80% plan to attend colleges and training programs:
  • 29 students plan to continue their studies at MATC
  • 2 students secured employment after completing a certificate or tech diploma at MATC
  • 10 enrolled at a 4 year college—Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Madison, UW-Parkside, Marquette University, Valparaiso University, and University of Dubuque
  • 1 student plans to participate in an apprenticeship program
  • 1 student plans to enter the U.S. Navy
