About Me

Drawn to Seeds of Health’s community-oriented mission, Theresa Yurk has been a devoted employee here for over twenty years. She assumed her current position as principal at Tenor Journal Square in 2021, having previously served in a variety of teaching and administrative positions at Seeds since 2001, including as a Social Studies Department Chair and Technology Coordinator at Grandview High School, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Seeds of Health agency, principal at Windlake Academy, and interim principal at Veritas High School. Passionate about Seeds of Health’s commitment to Milwaukee's youth, Theresa has never worked anywhere else.

Theresa holds a Master’s in Administrative Leadership with a Director of Instruction License from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science in Education and History from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.

Outside of professional work, Theresa enjoys traveling, specifically finding high-adventure activities, such as cliff-jumping, ziplining through a jungle or cave, repelling down a cave, riding dune buggies, and white water rafting. She loves being in nature, visiting big cities, and spending time with friends, family, and loved ones.
